 JS2 SL è un convertitore modulare che funziona in modo completamente simmetrico. Alimentazione, convertitore e valvola dello stadio sono costruiti come unità separata, il che rende molto più semplice l'adeguamento tecnico. Come il suo fratello maggiore, il JS2MK SL ora funziona con i componenti del convertitore di ESS. Il chip DAC E9038PRO supporta una risoluzione fino a 384kHz/32bit (PCM) e DSD512 grazie a Hyper-StreamII, che non è pienamente sfruttata in JS2. Il convertitore digitale-simmetrico serve a sopprimere le interruzioni nel processo di cambiamento. Uno stadio valvolare completamente simmetrico amplifica il segnale musicale al livello di linea.
